New Civ7 civ guide: Persia, and new leader info, Xerxes

By | October 24, 2024

Firaxis has given us today a deeper look onto the last remaining antiquity age civ, Persia, and the suitable leader for it, Xerxes.

Persia is an economic and militaristic civ, with a starting bias for deserts and plains. Their associated wonder, the Gates Of All Nations, gives more gold and support in a war. This ability will go well together with the unique commander, the Hazarapatis, which allows units to move after unpacking, and the unique unit Immortal, which heal after defeating a unit. Ancient Persia will definitely be a warmongering civ in Civ7. For the discussion about Persia, please check this thread.

We also got another insight into the appropriate leader for Persia, Firaxis has picked Xerxes. Xerxes comes with 2 personas, of which one will be available only via DLC. The base game persona will also be economic and militaristic, and will give his units boni if attacking in neutral or enemy territory. The DLC persona will focus more on Persias location on the silk road, and will give increased trade boni. For all the info please check this thread.

Ara: History Untold Patch 1.0.5 and Encarta series 11 – The Incas

By | October 23, 2024

The Ara devs dropped a first patch, version 1.0.5. This patch mostly focuses on performance, stabilitz and balance, whereas the more interesting features will be included in the upcoming patch 1.1.

They also released another Encarta series video, about the Inca. As usual, the devs first about the history of the civ, and then highlight Pacchacuti as the leader. His abilities give him additional resources, reflecting his history as a builder, but they also give boni for fortifications and walls, as he also conqured many of the other tribes in the surrounding. He is also one of the rare leaders to have a malus for craft production.
For all the details, watch the video and discuss it here.

Firaxis has revealed today the next exploration era civ in Civilzation 7: The Abbassids. As an arab caliphate from the Golden Era of Islam, they are scientific and cultural, and get the House of Wisdom as their associated wonder. They get a starting bias for camels and coastal tiles. They get three unique buildings, the Ulema, Madrasa and Mosque, which will give them happiness and science boni. For all the other details, as well as the discussion, please check this thread.

Civ7 – All the civilizations (probably)

By | October 20, 2024

Our user Rac made this great overview over all the civs, which we know so far, or very likely assume. We know the base game has 30 civs, plus Shawnee as DLC. We do not have a good idea yet about what civs will be in the 2 DLC packs, but obviously we are speculating, see this thread. Let us know if we did not see any evidence yet, and otherwise speculate with us!

New Civ guide: Chola, and new Ashoka persona: World conqueror (and maybe Persia confirmed)

By | October 18, 2024

Also today we got more fresh Civ7 info! This time we got more info for the medieval Indian Chola empire, a new exploration age civ. The Cholas are economic and diplomatic, they get 3 unique infrastructures, and with their coastal and tropical starting bias, together with their unique abilities, they are destined to be traders in Civ7. For more info, such as their unique wonder or units, please check this thread.

We also got more infor about the second persona for Ashoka, World conqueror, which is part of the founders content DLC pack. In contrast to the World renouncer persona, the conqueror is militaristic instead of expansionist. He will also get more production instead of happiness, and a combat strength bonus. For both personas please see this thread.

The video about Ashoka also seems to have revealed the Persians as an antiquity civ. For the speculations please check this thread.
