Elemental: Reforged – first dev diaries

By | August 14, 2025

Last month Elemental: Reforged was announced, and now the first few dev diaries are available.

Elemental: Reforged is less of a new title really. It is a remake of the old 4X game Elemental: War Of Magic (designed by CFC member Kael), merging in the best mechanics from its successors Fallen Enchantress and the side off shot Sorcerer King. The game will come less with new graphics (Stardock saying they use old assets), but rather with a gameplay overhaul.

You can read the first of the available dev diaries here, and discuss them with us here.

Yield is a light-weight historic 4X game, set in the time when the Barbarians are invading Rome. You start with a single settler, develop technologies and expand over the map, as in all 4X games, but in a very cute graphics style, and not evening-filling, but rather a 4X game for in-between.

If you are curious, the game is right now on discount with 50% off, now for 9.99€. You can get it here, and discuss it with us here.

Take-Two CEO Insists Projections for the ‘Lifetime Value’ of Civilization 7 Are ‘Very Consistent With Our Initial Expectations for the Title’

By | August 12, 2025

IGN has posted today an article called “Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick Insists Projections for the ‘Lifetime Value’ of Civilization 7 Are ‘Very Consistent With Our Initial Expectations for the Title’ — Despite ‘Slow Start’“.
IGN has interviewed the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, and he said “I think the key thing is that Civ has always been a slow burn. It’s always been a title that had — I’m not really a big believer in the long tail theory of the entertainment business — but Civ is an example of that theory. And right now our projections for the lifetime value of the title are very consistent with our initial expectations for the title.”
He also admits that the start was not great, overall, but that this still does not impede the sales projections (as just mentioned).
You can read the whole article here, and discuss it with us here.
