The guys from GamingOnLinux have a series which started with building a retro computer for gaming on Linux, and in the meantime they’re at part 50. After building their machine, they’re now looking at various old games, and it turns out that “Civilization: Call to Power” was maybe the first commercially sold computer game for Linux. The author therefore has a look on how it feels to again play CtP, starts with the Romans and crushing your enemies. Obviously he runs into the limits of the technoloy, and reminiscents about what CtP did right, and what could have been done better.
