Also for May we got you something new to play if you need a new Civ6 challenge: In this “Game Of The Month” you play Tomyris of Scythia on a old, hot and arid small size Inland sea map with sparse resources. This game is played on Emperor level, and you get a disaster intensity of 1. Your challenge is also to win this with a Domination or Religious victory. You can try until June 1. Old World update #134

Mohawk Games, the developers of Old World, have released the latest update for their game! This update includes a map script for the Wraths Of God DLC, called rejuvenation (pictured), which gets greener over time, ships can enter defensive formations, lots of bug fixes, UI additions and balancing changes.

Civilization VII – Update 1.2.0 – Patch 1

boosey.com – Christopher Tin: from gaming to the concert hall

Boosey & Hawkes, a music publishing company, has interviewed our favourite composer, to talk about his work for Civ7.
They ask him about details for Live Gloriously, the change from 20 years ago with Baba Yetu to now, and his future plans.
An excerpt:

Ironically the Civilization team gave me way more creative freedom in the past than on this last game, Civilization VII. In the past, the development team would simply tell me how much music they needed and let me write what I wanted, which was the process that gave birth to Baba Yetu and Sogno di Volare (which are arguably my two best known pieces). With Civilization VII, we went through much more of a typical media composing process, where the developers gave me ‘temp tracks’ that they wanted me to emulate, gave me notes, asked me to rewrite sections, add additional texts, etc. It’s not the way your typical concert music composer likes to work, but those of us who have a background in media scoring are used to this sort of thing; and frankly I think it’s what has made me a better collaborator on things like opera and ballet projects.

CivPlayers Civ VII ShowMatch cast in French and English (April 27)!

New indie game release: Pax Augusta

Today another interesting indie game has been released: Pax Augusta.
This seems to be a city builder set in ancient Rome, similar to older games like the Caesar series.
As usual, you need to build housing to finally erect big monuments. You can also trade with your neighbours, as story mode exists, but also a free building mode.
The game is currently discounted, for 19.99 instead of 24.99.
