Bill Farley, a professor in archeology, and very active on Twitter, has shown that he also likes games, and went on a live stream with Civ6, trying to achieve a culture victory while only relying on archeology (just for the giggles). His video is right now at only 90 minutes, so we can expect at least another session to see him get his victory. Discuss this video with us here.

Civilization meets Cities Skylines 2 in new historical city builder
A new game has been announced, which should be of interest to the Civ-fanatics: Memoriapolis. PCGamesN describes it as “Civilization meets Cities Skylines 2 in new historical city builder“, which indeed could be come true. The game is described as a city builder, where you take your city through the ages, unlock new challenges, meetnew demands by your citizens, and get new powers over your inhabitation. No release date is known yet, but we will be eagerly following this new game. Join us for the discussion here.

Civ6 monthly challenge for April: Three Stars Each
This month’s challenge is slightly different than the rest, because everything is random. Your civ is set, it is Babylon, you need to win via science, but everything else is unknown (besides the difficulty, Prince or Emperor). Besides the map this also includes the tech tree and the civics, which should result in a tad bit different civ game. You have until May 14, and you can find all the details and discussion here.
PCGamesN: Pixel art Civilization 6 rival deals in the dark side of diplomacy (Imperial Ambitions)
PCGamesN just published an article about an upcoming game, which should be up to the taste of the Civ-fanatics, “Imperial Ambitions“. As the title of the article indicates, this is a turn-based 4X game, probably closer to Colonization than to Civilization 6 though, and it comes in a retro look. You manage an European empire in the age of Imperialism, you optimize trade, deal with the social classes in your empire, and you will probably also fight other European empires with some cute pixel soldiers. An excerpt from the article:
Like any good 4X game, however, conflict isn’t the main focus – more a means to an end. A free Steam demo available now allows you to experience in-depth tutorials for settlement management, resource gathering, and production elements, along with a demonstration of how trade works in Imperial Ambitions and a brief look at combat. After running through the full thing myself, it’s definitely a game I’m keeping a close eye on.
