The incredibly popular CIV IV AI Survivor Season Eight Will Begin on 31 May 2024 at 1200 EST

What is AI survivor? It’s a CIV IV watching party on Twitch where we witness various AIs from one of the most enduring CIV titles duke it out on a Pangea map, max difficulty, no tech trading, no vassals, and Aggressive AI turned on.

Sullla randomly picks the AIs and also randomly generates each new map. He also goes into world builder mode to make sure nothing gets missed, commentating on the wacky events that seem to get nuttier and less predictable every year!

In Sullla’s own words, “Civ4 AI Survivor is a tournament competition pitting the 52 leaders in the game against one another in a battle for supremacy. Each season starts with a random draw, then proceeds to eliminate the AI leaders across 13 games before crowning an ultimate champion. Have you ever wondered what type of leaders perform the best in Civ4: warmongers or pacifists? Wonder builders or religious fanatics? Let’s find out! Who will survive?”

Millennia – Update 2

The second of the scheduled updates for Millennia has been released. In this update the devs bring us new options for hot seat multiplayer, new indicators for unrest, a better overview over some unit stats, made the remapping of keys possible, expanded the nation builder functionality, and a bunch of other things as well. Civ5 Battle Royal Season 4: New episodes

The Civ5 Battle Royale is huge but the concept of the show is pretty simple! On a massive world map, 61 AI Civilizations go at it to see which one can be the last one standing. No human intervention in the show as a several months long game is recorded and then curated into episodes across the action. Right now the community has arrived at the 6th episode already. FireSquid games, the organizers of Tacticon, have released a new game, “Great House Of Calderia“. PCGamesN has also published an article called “Crusader Kings 3 has a rival as beloved grand strategy game hits 1.0“, which probably tells you why this is interesting for us.
Great House Of Calderia is a grand strategy game, running in real time, so similar to the Paradox titles (e.g. Crusader Kings, obviously). You play in a fantasy renaissance setting, where you need to expand your lands, manage your family, conduct diplomacy, and maybe conquer the other countries in the surrounding.

The game has been discounted by 40% for the launch, and is right now available for 14.70 instead of 24.50 on Steam. It can also be caught in combination with Ozymandias, a neat snack-sized turn-based 4X game, for only 26.72 together.
