PCGamesN: A Civilization 6 modder has brought back upgradeable throne rooms and palaces

By | September 27, 2021

The veterans here at CivFanatics will remember Civ2 and Civ3: Civ2 had a throne room, which you could upgrade and make more fancy whenever your had a we-love-the-X day in one of your cities. Civ3 did something similar with a palace. Both features were nice to look at, but did not affect the gameplay at all, and were therefore probably not included in later iterations. They were very beloved though. PCGamesN has an article today here, that there is a Civ6 mod which brings both of them back to Civ6.

So if you want to have the glorious days of palace and throne room building back, you can have them now ;).

You can find the mod here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/technoluddites-mods.673401/ , made by our veteran member Technoluddite.

30 years of Civilization: The SNES and Playstation 1 port of Civ1

By | September 25, 2021

Our user Blake00 has put out another very interesting video. This time it is about the SNES and PS1 port of Civ1. Most people will not know about these, since they are rather obscure, and the latter one was only available in Japan. There is even on ongoing, but also rather unknown project to make a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive port! Blake has therefore decided to bring us these both ports closer, and show us in a video how they play. The PS1 port is especially unusual, since they used very different graphics for it. Watch his video below:
