We got another developer diary from the new Paradox game Millennia!
This time the diary is again about how the economy works. Overall this works comparable to Civ, in the sense that you have a city where you build buildings which give bonuses in certain areas, and in the surrounding you build improvements. The improvements produce distinct goods though (so wheat is not exchangable with pigs or rice), and this has overall downstream effects. For more information the economy in Millennia please check this thread.

New indie game release: Rising Lords
Another game got released, which just right fits to our taste: Rising Lords.
This game is a medieval turn-based strategy game, where you build up cities, recruit armies, and fight against other lords.
The art style is cute, and system requirements are very low.
A free demo is available, and the full game is currently discounted from 19.99 to 16.99.
Check the Steam page here, a short article by TurnBasedLovers here, and obviously you can also discuss with us in this thread.

Ara: History Untold: Dev Diary, Ep. 15 – Insider Program
And we are now at the 15th dev diary for Ara: History Untold.
This time the devs talk about gaming history, mostly of 4X. Apparently Oxide sits close to MicroProse, who developed the first Civ games, and many of their employees also once worked there! They also talk about that the term 4X is itself from 1993, coming from Master Of Orion 2 at Microprose, and that is was meant to sound edgy (watch the video). And they also talk which X is the most important to Ara, and which new ones they try to add to the 4 ones!
Check it out, and discuss it with us here.
