Play the new Civ7 “Game Of The Month” #14

By | January 8, 2026

New year, new round of civ! We again invite you to participate in the “Game Of The Month”, a competition among the civfanatics to deliver the best game with a predetermined savegame. If you want to see how your skills compare to the rest of the community in Civ7, then this is now your chance!

In the GOTM #14, you play as Harriet Tubman of Egypt (no civ change), on a standard size “shattered seas” map on Immortal level. You also have a light disaster intensity, and we require you to win the game via a militaristic victory in the modern age. You think you can tackle this challenge? Then get your savegame here, and submit the winning game before February 2.

Shacknews: Best Strategy Game of 2025 – Sid Meier’s Civilization 7

By | December 28, 2025

The title is giving it fully away: Shacknews has crowned Civ7 to be their best strategy title of 2025.
It managed to beat the latest Commandos title and Final Fantasy Tactics among others.
The Shacknews team appreciated the changing civs (yes, they did) and the new strategies it allows, the navigable rivers and the removal of workers.
At the end, Civ7 won narrowly with 4 vs 3 votes against Jurassic World Evolution 3, and is now Shacknews strategy game of 2026.
