Today we got the release of patch 1.3.0! The update itself brings us new terrains, revamped naval battle, the harbor building and the privateer unit, a rebalancing and much more. For the patch nodes please check here, and discuss with us here.
We are also getting the first part of the “Tides Of Power” DLC, which is free until January! This DLC includes The Pirate Republic, Tonga, and Edward Teach as leader, next to some smaller things. You can also discuss these in the above mentioned thread, or check the Edward Teach thread.
Please note: Some users seem to have trouble accessing the DLC, but this should only be temporary.
The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer, and this is the perfect opportunity for more civ! And therefore we are giving you the next challenge for Civ5: In this “Game Of The Month” we ask you to play as Attila The Hun, on a standard-size great plains map on Deity level. The challenge is not to be a menace to the planet, but rather to win via a science victory. You think you can do that? Then get the starting savegame here! You can submit your succesful game until December 1.
Today Sara gave us more information about the remaining civ for the “Tides of Power” DLC: Tonga.
Tonga is an expansionist and diplomatic civ with a starting bias for coast and tropical tiles. They obviously get boni related to coastal tiles and exploration, such as their scout being able to enter directly ocean tiles without taking any damage. For more info please check here.
Firaxis also gave us an update about the reworked naval battle, which you can read here and discuss with us here.
Mohawk Games, the developers of Old World, have released the latest update for their game! This update includes a re-balancing of leader archetypes, adding of a new map bin, improvements to the MP setup, changes to the UI, bugfixes and more.
Discuss this update with us here (and read the full list of changes too).
Old World is currently available in the Epic Store, on GOG, Steam, and on Stove.
After Sara gave us some details yesterday about the new leader Edward Teach from the upcoming Civ7 “Tides Of Power” DLC on Monday, today we got information about the new Pirate Republic civ.
The “Republic Of Pirates” is an economic and militaristic civ, which cannot build any settlers, but must capture them. Via civics, UUs and UBs the Pirate Republic also gets boni for pillaging, producing ships, capturing treasure fleets and a special pirate unit. For all the details check our thread here.
After the announcement yesterday for the upcoming free DLC on Monday, Sara has come by today to give us some more information.
She has shared the first look for the new leader, Edward “Blackbeard” Teach. He is a militaristic and economic leader with a coastal starting bias. His special ability is all about plundering and being a proper pirate. For the details check our thread here.
Years in the making CivFanatics user Blake00 has gone public with the v1.1 release of his & user MetroPolisโs Heroes of Might & Magic 2 total conversion scenario modpack for Sid Meier’s Civilization 2. Since Sept was the 30th anniversary of Heroes 1 he also made his HoMM1 graphics addon pack available earlier than planned too. Almost every part of Civ2 (which will be having its own 30th anniversary soon) has been changed to feel more HoMM like making this possibly the largest total conversion mod ever made for Civ2 Gold!
Check the mod release page here, and our thread for discussions here.
