As we know, the civ community is very creative, shown by the countless mods for all the Civ games we have. Another civ fan has set out for something completely different: A MMO version of FreeCiv! In “Power Of Planets” you play as one of many players in a quasi-real time environment. You start with a couple of units on a continent, totally civ-style, but all your opponents are humans, and units are not moved turn-based, but they get a count-down after their movemenets are exhausted until the are recharged.

And also for Civ6 you get another mid-month “GOTM”! You play as Tokugawa on a standard-size pangaea map on Deity level. You only get sparse resources, which you need to use to achieve a diplomatic or cultural victory. You have until October 16 to unify the planet.

New undisclosed Paradox game on the horizon

Paradox Games, the publisher of many great 4X games like Europa Universalis, Victoria or Crusader Kings, will be announcing another 4X game on September 21. Right now nothing is known about it, besides that an image definitely indicates that it starts in the stone age. Will this be a civ competitor? A stone age game? Something else? In a few days we will know more!

Play the new Civ5 “Game Of The Month” #229

And we continue our often more-than-monthly GOTM series for Civ5! The team has this time created a new game for you, in which you play the Inca on Immortal level on a standard size frontier map. You need to win via a science victory, and prevent all other civs from achieving another victory. You have until October 15 to go where no Inca has gone before.

Civ6-streamer and history student paisley_trees has made a video about one of the Civ6 relics, the tooth of the prophet. They explain that this relic is about the teeth of the prophet Muhammad, and how they ended up in the Topkapi palace in Istanbul.

As part of the CivTember celebration, Firaxis will have live streams with some of the best Civ6 streamers out there. This week on Thursday September 14 (10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST), the streamers OnSpotTV, Lumba3go, TheGameMechanic, whiteandnerdytv will be playing as Magnificence Catherine, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Ramses, Qin Shi Huang (Mandate of Heaven), respectively, and we’re looking forward to an interesting game. In the coming 2 weeks we also will have 2 more streams on Thursdays.
