GameRant: Civilization 7 Could Break New Ground with an Exciting Feature

GameRant has recently published a series of articles somewhat related to Civ7, most of them not being informative, but one of the authors over there has now proposed something a bit more interesting: Civ7 should have a campaign mode, with dedicated goals and stories for each leader and civilization. They refer to other series like Age of Empires or the Anno series, who obviously do things differently than Civ, and then talk about the good work which has been done in Civ with various scenarios.
An excerpt from the article:
Civilization 7 should break new ground for the franchise by offering the first full campaign mode of the series. Ideally, Civilization 7 should have a tailored campaign mode for each of its world leaders. Borrowing a little from the highly underrated Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Civilization 7 could offer a series of Scenarios for each leader, as opposed to just one short Scenario each, taking players through their entire historical career beat by beat, and putting them up against the same challenges that the real-life versions of those figures had to face. This way, fans are able to enjoy full-length campaigns, but can take it at their own pace, going mission to mission. Civilization 7 is probably looking for a way to stand out from past entries, and adding a full single-player campaign would definitely do that.

What do you think?
Is this a way to go for Civ?
Or should this stay reserved for a mod like our most very famous and popular “Rhy’s and Fall”?
Or is there just n oplace in civ for a story, besides the story of all humanity?

Madish Moose: HUMANKIND versus Civilization 6 – A (mostly) Definitive Comparison based on the 4x Strategy Genre
For the 2 year anniversary of Humankind, the streamer Madish Moose has released a video comparing Humankind to Civ6. On his Twitch profile you can see that he plays both games regularly, so he has some experience with both of them. In the video he compares both titles based on the 4Xs of the genre, and judges which game performs better on them.
Do you agree with him? Let us know here!
Play the new Civ4 “Game Of The Month” #256

And the climate madness continues in the GOTM: For the Civ4 GOTM you play as the Maya, but not in a lush jungle area, but on a modified boreal map. The map has a standard size, and you will be playing on Prince level. You have until September 15 to dislodge soccer as the world’s most favourite ball sport.

Humankind is turning two (anniversary update and community challenge)
It now has been 2 years since the release of Humankind, and Amplitude has released an anniversary update!
The above video summarizes shortly the deveopments over this time frame.
But that is not it yet, obviously, another update is to come next month, and until then, you get a community challenge where you can discover some things about the new features which you will be getting.
The full post:
Hey everybody!
Humankind was released two years ago today, so it’s time for a little celebration. Just a little one, though, as we’re quite busy working on the next update.
For those of you who haven’t been following our regular news, here’s a little summary of what we’ve worked on in the past year:
We know many of you are excited to get your hands on the trade rework, improve naval combat, and poaching ability, but that’s not quite ready to ship yet. (Don’t worry, it’s not that far off now. You’ll get a hold of it next month.)
To get you in the mood to mess with your enemies once the new update hits the waves, we prepared a little community challenge: From today (August 17th) until next Tuesday (August 22nd), we’ll be tracking the number of districts all of our players ransack together. As you burn and pillage more districts, you will progressively unlock Humankind-themed rewards, alongside a few hints about the final in-game reward.
- Goal 1: A hint of what’s to come
- Goal 2: New G2G Badge
- Goal 3: A second glimpse of the future
- Goal 4: New Humankind wallpaper
- Goal 5: The final clue
- Goal 6: New free in-game content
The hints will be revealed as you reach the goals, but all other rewards will be delivered with the naval update.
Have fun stealing your neighbor’s riches!
