Ireland civilization led by Brian Boru available for Civ V

By | December 3, 2016

brian-boru

Another fantastic leader and civilization from JFD and JanBoruta for Civ V, with contributions from Viregel.  Brian Boru’s Ireland requires Brave New World and works best with Gazebo’s Community Patch.

Brian Boru’s Ireland comes with two unique units. The Fili (which replaces the Great Writer) produces Great Works of Writing which generate Great Musician points. The player receives a free Fili with each Great General spawned. The Kern (which replaces the Longswordsman) unlocks at Civil Service, does not require iron, has -5 combat strength, but may use enemy roads and gets +15% XP from combat when surrounded by two or more enemies.

Go to JFD and JanBoruta’s Civilizations for the download links and to discuss Brian Boru’s Ireland.

polycast_logoThe Civilization strategy-centric podcast PolyCast (PC) is nearing the end of its tenth season of ongoing production. During the first season of PC was its “Cut!” side series in production, serving as a compilation of cut moments from episode recordings. The last of these episode productions were only published for the first time earlier this month; other than as a series of minisodes during Episode 200, “Cut!” has not surfaced in the podcast’s production schedule.
Selections cut from episode recordings during the second through tenth seasons were archived in a similar fashion nonetheless, along with some holdovers from the first season. In celebration of PC’s tenth year of podcasting “Cut! Tomatekh’s Historical Religions available for Civilization VI

By | November 27, 2016

Tomatekh’s immensely popular “Historical Religions” mod has now debuted in Civilization VI with a fantastic new look!

The mod adds additional historical (pre-modern and indigenous) religions to the base game. Leaders previously lacking a religious preference (Aztec, Greece, etc.) are also updated to prefer an appropriate historical religion. Several additional generic icons are also included.

This is just a sample of what is available; the mod covers several religions and even covers the signs of the zodiac not already in the base files! The mod is available to download directly from Civfanatics; there’s also a discussion thread where you can give Tomatekh valuable feedback and suggest suitable additions for the future.

Shekelesh unit pack available for Civ III

By | November 25, 2016

Register’s Shekelesh unit pack is now available to download to enhance your Civ III ancient era experience!

shekelesh

The pack includes an archer, horse spearman, oxen cart, spearman and two swordsmen; a perfect combination to use in a mod based on the Ancient World. The Shekelesh were named by the Egyptians as one of the Sea Peoples, and these units will be invaluable to modders interested in creating the perfect ancient invasion scenario and to those creating a specific civilization based on the Shekelesh.

Register credits Kinboat, utahjazz7, CamJH, Plotinus, Micaelus, Steph, and Moeniir for their resources that helped him to create the units. This excellent pack just goes to show that Civ III modding is still thriving and still generating some interesting, good quality and extremely useful mods!
