TheCivGive2021: Now with guest appearances of the developers!

There are more interesting developments happening for TheCivGive2021! Not only that 2K has announced to match up to $25 000 in donations for this charity drive for children’s hospitals, now the final live stream on December 19 will also have guest appearances of the developers! Kevin Schulz, our most loved community manager, has announced on Twitter that we will be joining parts of the final stream, together with Ed Beach, Carl Harrison, and maybe some more people. So… stay tuned, donate, and hope for an interesting stream!

PCGamesN: This US teacher uses Humankind and Civilization to teach world history

PCGamesN has just released an article about the educational uses of Civ and Humankind. They describe how a teacher uses both games in the classroom to teach, and uses TikTok further to go deeper in the topics.

An excerpt:

“In the normal classroom we go over the primary theme of each era. Then, in the gaming portion they play a giant multiplayer game where they are given objectives of things their civilisation (or precursor civilisation) actually did in history. When students complete their objectives we go over them in class, using the real-life events as a case study to examine the primary theme of the era.”

Slitherine: Home Of Wargamers 2021

Slitherine has announced their “Home Of Wargamers” 2021 live stream, where they’ll show all the content to be scheduled for release in 2021 (we assume they mean 2022). The live stream will take place on December 14, 2 PM UK time. The content they plan to show can be seen in the picture, and consists (as people who are familiar with the publisher know) mostly out of turn-based war games.
