Mohawk Games, the developers of Old World, have released the latest update for their game! This update includes that you cannot any longer hire Barbarian units, that civilian units defend cities, units with leader generals are immune to control effects, as well as a long range of smaller changes and bugfixes.

We start winter with another challenge for you. In this Civ5 “Game Of The Month” you play as Dido of Carthage on a small “large islands” map on Prince level. You must win via a domination victory, but all victories are enabled, meaning you must prevent other civs from e.g. winning a space or culture victory. The deadline for this game is December 15. In case someone ever wants to take a break from Civ, and have a look at one of the other amazing games out there, then today you got fodder: Anno 117: Pax Romana was released today (Steam, Epic). In the latest edition of this traditional city builder you get transporter further back in time, into the Roman Empire. It is your job to build thriving Roman cities, or build up new colonies in the far away lands of a Great Britain inspired landscape. In either way, you can optimize production lines, build beautiful cities, research new technologies and optionally sometimes fight. The good people over at TurnBasedLovers have put together a list of the highest grossing turn-based games, no matter if strategy or RPG.
Unsurprisingly, this also does include some Civ titles, with Civ5 coming 4th, and Civ6 coming 2nd.
The list claims that Civ5 brought in $179 million on Steam, and Civ6 $358 million on Steam.
They guys put together the list themself, and they don’t cite their sources, so it’s unclear how reliable these numbers are. Given that Civ5 sold more than 8 million copies, this does not sound unlikely, but we cannot confirm this.

Firaxis has released a small patch to fix the most urgent bugs in patch 1.3.0. This includes that the AI will use less sanctions, produce GPs correctly, a range of stability improvements and other small fixes. For the complete list and discussion please check here.
